A translation of a 1920 work by Oskar Schabert, a Lutheran pastor in the Baltic region, detailing the history of regional persecutions, culminating in Bolshevik imprisonment and execution of Lutherans and their pastors. This book in many ways relaunched hagiography in Lutheranism by naming contemporaries as true martyrs and confessors. This is its first appearance in English.
